Fathers
To Be here
is
an initiative to help generate and resource the principle of 'enough
support' for fathers in the time of pregnancy, birth and early
parenthood.
Fathers now are very much 'up close' to early
parenting, spending significantly more time caring for infants than
they did 30 years ago. As men come to be fathers, the time around birth
is most significant. Crucial bonds are forged or not at the time the
members of the family meet for the first time.
As part of the
increasing understanding that the early part of an infant's life
matters, helping fathers 'raise their game' in this field is intended
to serve the family and wider society through greater
coherence in
relationships.
Elmer Postle is co founder with Patrick Houser of this initiative.
Patrick is the author of the 'Fathers To Be Handbook'.
